Beginning Monday, August 3, contractors will close Smokey Creek Road approximately 1 mile from KY 2. This will be to replace the bridge over Smokey Creek. The road will remain closed until the project is completed. Motorists can use KY 2 and KY 1025 to detour closure.

Traffic Advisory: Slide Repair on US 60 in Carter County Begins Tomorrow FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (April 23, 2026) – Slide repairs begin on US 60 between KY 3296 (Trumbo Road) and Douglas Hollow Road, at mile point .8, Friday April 24, in Carter County.

The lane closure is weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect automated flagged traffic during working hours. Motorists can use KY 174 as an alternate route.

Road work schedules may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
