I want to apologize ahead of time but due to the flu the Carter County Sheriff Office will be closed today 2/13/26. We will be open Monday Morning. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The Carter County Sheriff Office will be taking applications for a Office Clerk Position until December 31, 2025. Anyone can pickup an application from the Sheriff Office M-F 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. We will do interviews the after the first of the the year.

On Monday November 17, I had the privilege of submitting my papers for my intention to run for Re-Election for the 4th time as your Sheriff of Carter County.

It has been a great honor to serve the Great People of Carter County as your Sheriff. I have and will continue to protect the citizens of this county to the fullest of my ability. When we started on January 1, 2015, we had 3 deputies working the road in this county. Today we have 9 deputies covering this large county. We are proud of what we have accomplished over the past 11 years. Since day one, I have strived to be the People’s Sheriff. I love my county and the people who live here.

I am humbly ask for your continued support for the 2026 Carter County Election as your Carter County Sheriff. Let’s do this together and continue to improve this county. Thank you all for your support. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all! God Bless!

Due to the closure of several city streets for October Fest, the Carter County Sheriff's Department will be closed this Saturday, October 25th, 2025. Instead, we will be open on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 from 8:30 until noon for the collection of Carter County Property Taxes and Vehicle Inspections.

The 2025 Carter County Property Tax Bills have been mailed. If you do not receive your bill by October 10, 2025, please call the Carter County Sheriff's office at 606-474-5616.
