In partnership with the Lake County Emergency Management Agency, we are sharing an important weather update for our community. We are expecting high temperatures and severe storms over the next couple of days. Please stay hydrated, keep cool, and look out for your neighbors to ensure everyone is safe. Additionally, please stay alert and monitor local forecasts, as these storms have the potential to produce hail and high winds.

Jeff Paul, Ed Tyler, and Tyler Harding received awards for outstanding care to patients on calls. Jeff Paul received his award for a childbirth call, along with Francisco Garcia, Jin Kwon, and Matt Williams (Not pictured). Ed and Tyler received their award for caring for a patient who was having a stroke. Spencer Strom, Pat O'Connor, and Frankie Concialdi (Not Pictured) were also awarded.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Trustee Karen Wojciechowski on May 30. She served the Grayslake Fire District for over 30 years, including 10 years as Trustee and 20 years as Fire Commissioner. She was a valued friend and dedicated supporter of the Fire District, its members, and the community.

Please keep the Wojciechowski family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Service arrangements for Trustee Karen Wojciechowski:

• Visitation: Thursday, June 4, 4:00–8:00 p.m., Strang Funeral Home, Grayslake. Fire Department walk-through at 6:00 p.m. (lineup at 5:45 p.m.).

• Funeral Service: Friday, June 5, 11:00 a.m., Strang Funeral Home, Grayslake.

Today, the Grayslake Fire District welcomed 9 new part-time employees, 7 of whom are shown. The new recruits include 4 graduates from the College of Lake County Academy. Pictured from left to right are Pakaski, Martinez, Adler, Benton, Blau, Daun, and Shaffer. Koski and Cavallari are not pictured. We congratulate our new employees and anticipate a long career in the fire service.

Tonight, the Exchange Club of Grayslake celebrated its Book of Golden Deeds Banquet and honored Lieutenant Brendan Hay as Firefighter of the Year. Lieutenant Hay's distinguished service to the community and district over the past 8 years has exemplified the highest standards of dedication and commitment. His contributions have significantly exceeded expectations, reflecting his profound dedication to both our members and the community.
