Kirtland Regional Police Academy cadets are completing Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVO) today!

The past couple of days have been filled with plenty of ups and downs, lessons learned, challenges overcome, and—most of all—a whole lot of driving!

EVO is an important part of preparing future officers to safely and effectively operate emergency vehicles under demanding conditions. The cadets have been putting in the work, learning from each experience, and continuing to build the skills they’ll need in the field.

Great job, cadets! Keep learning, keep improving, and keep pushing forward!

All cadets PASSED EVO - congratulations!!!

Law Enforcement Torch Run — Class 63

Yesterday, September 15th, Kirtland Regional Police Academy Class 63 had the honor of participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run, hosted by Gerrish Township, to support the Michigan Special Olympics.

We are proud to share that our class has raised over $3,000 so far for this amazing cause! But we’re not done yet! It’s not too late to donate. Every donation, big or small, goes toward supporting the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Michigan (link below).

Thank you to everyone who has already donated and supported Class 63. Your generosity truly makes a difference!

Together, we can make a difference!!!

We will never forget what occurred to our nation on that fateful day. Remember those who gave everything to save lives that day and the countless souls who died in the years that followed.

Police Academy Cadets — Week 4 / Post #3!

Taser and Preliminary Breath Testing (PBT) rounded out the week 4 training objectives! More learning, more hands-on training, and another week of hard work in the books.

Our cadets continue to build their knowledge and skills while pushing themselves through each new challenge. We’re proud of the effort, determination, and commitment they continue to show!

Now, they have a long weekend to refresh, recharge, and get ready because next up are two weeks of fi****ms training!

Keep up the great work, cadets—you’re almost a quarter of the way there! You’ve got this!

Police Academy Cadets — Week 4 / Post #2!

The hands-on learning and training continued this week with defensive spray! And let us just say…hands down, this is the best academy to successfully complete defensive spray!

Cadets were put through an obstacle course with the expectation that they listen carefully to instructions, complete assigned tasks, and keep moving forward despite the challenge. Every single cadet battled through the discomfort, pushed past the challenge, and got the job done!

We couldn’t be prouder of this group and the determination they’ve shown from start to finish. They continue to push themselves, support one another, and prove that they’re ready to take on whatever comes their way.

Way to go, Cadets! Keep pushing—you’ve got this!

Stay tuned for Week 4 / Post #3!

Police Academy Cadets - Week 4/Post #1

It’s a happening week for our Police Academy cadets! This week is packed with hands-on learning and training for our cadets, and we’ll be sharing three posts highlighting some of what they’ve been up to.

We’re kicking things off with Standard Field Sobriety Testing (SFST). Cadets spent plenty of time practicing the tests hands-on and even got the opportunity to put on the infamous “drunk goggles” to experience and perform the tests while simulating impairment.

There was a lot of great learning happening… along with a few moments that had us wondering if the glasses were really to blame! Some of our cadets got a little crazy with them—or perhaps those goofy personalities are simply who they are!

Either way, they worked hard, learned a lot, and had some fun along the way. Great job, cadets!

Stay tuned for Posts #2 and 3!
