🇺🇸 September 11 — We Remember Them All. 🇺🇸
Today, we remember a day that changed our nation forever.
We remember the civilians who went to work that morning, never knowing they would not return home. We remember the passengers aboard the planes, the people in the buildings, and every innocent life taken that day.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and other first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away. They answered a call that would cost many of them their lives.
And we remember the families.
The husbands, wives, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends who were forced to say goodbye far too soon — and those who have carried that loss with them every day since.
The loss did not end on September 11.
In the years that followed, countless first responders and survivors suffered from illnesses connected to their exposure during the rescue, recovery, and cleanup efforts. Many have since passed away, leaving even more families to mourn a loss that began that September morning.
So today, we remember all of them.
The civilians.
The first responders.
The survivors.
The families.
And every person whose life was forever changed by September 11.
As a fire district, we understand the responsibility that comes with answering the call. We understand the courage it takes to run toward danger. And we will always honor those who showed that courage when our nation needed them most.
We remember their lives.
We honor their sacrifice.
We stand with their families.
And we will never forget.
