On August 5th we will be hosting the National Weather Service from Pittsburg Pennsylvania for a Lightning Safety 101 class. Due to the anticipated amount of guests, class will be held at the West Muskingum High School. Class is free of charge and all are encouraged to join. Crews last night had a busy few hours! Crews were dispatched to I-70 for this MVA. One patient was transport in stable condition. While fire crews remained on I-70 we were also called for a second MVA and a fire in Licking County. Thank you to our 7 volunteers who came to help out!!

Tanker 831 assisted Hopewell Township Fire Department this morning with water supply on a commercial vehicle fire. A trash truck had a fire in its load, dumped it into the roadway. No injuries or vehicle damage was reported.

Wednesday night our crews responded to reports of a barn fire. This facility, known by crews is a local dairy farm with multiple close buildings. Upon arrival of Engine 831, a tractor inside the barn had caught fire, totaling the tractor and extending into the roof overhead. Owners did an excellent job extinguishing the majority of the tractor fire. Crews came in to help cleanup the remaining hotspots within the roof, help remove the tractor from the building and ensure it's a safe place to rest for the night to the cattle inside. Along with the duty crew we had 7 volunteers respond. Cant thank everyone enough for their help!

Set up is almost complete. Looks like over 1700 eggs! Come out and join us, egg hunt starts at 11am SHARP! Please bring a bucket to fill, and just a heads up- the grassy area is still wet for the older kiddos (hopefully it dries out some by then). See you there!

For this months training we hosted The Energy Cooperative with their Arc Demo trailer. Crews came out to demonstrate multiple scenarios involving power lines, underground utilities and the hazards faced when dealing with such events. Downed power lines are an issue crews deal with frequently and are one of the most dangerous. Thank you to all departments and townships who came out to join us and of course big thanks to The Energy Cooperative for everything!
