๐Ÿข๐Ÿ’š Outstanding Citizen Spotlight ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿข

Meet Brody, a 6-year-old Grass Valley resident with a big heart for wildlife.

While visiting Condon Park near the Juniors Baseball Field, Brody spotted a turtle laying eggs. Concerned that people might accidentally disturb the nest, he went home, made handmade warning signs, and let the City know right away so our crews could help protect the area.

His quick thinking, creativity, and care for the natural world are a wonderful reminder that youโ€™re never too young to make a difference in your community.

Thank you, Brody, for looking out for our local wildlife and helping protect the next generation of turtles. Grass Valley is lucky to have young citizens like you! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿข

๐Ÿ”ฅ Red Flag Warning in Effect ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Critical fire weather conditions are expected across our region, with hot, dry, and windy conditions increasing the risk of wildfire ignition and rapid fire spread.

As a reminder, outdoor burning is prohibited within Grass Valley city limits. During periods of elevated fire danger, even small sparks can have serious consequences.

Now is a great time to make sure your household is prepared:
๐ŸŽ’ Prepare a go-bag with essential supplies in case an evacuation becomes necessary. Learn what to pack at ReadyNevadaCounty.org/GoBags

๐Ÿ“ฑ Sign up for Nevada County Alerts to receive emergency notifications directly from local officials: ReadyNevadaCounty.org/EmergencyAlerts

We all play a role in keeping our community safe. Please avoid activities that could spark a fire, stay aware of changing conditions, and take a few minutes today to prepare your family for the unexpected.
