Save the Date! We will welcome our Cannon Kinder Cubs on Thursday, July 30, from 9:00 to 11:00 for our annual Kinder Camp. While our Kinder Cubs are getting to know each other and our teachers, parents are invited to learn more about Cannon with Dr. Garrett. We look forward to welcoming you to the Cannon family!

As we wrapped up another incredible school year at Cannon, we gathered together for our End of Year Staff Breakfast to celebrate the heart of our campus — our amazing staff. ❤️

Today we also honored our GCISD Pins of Service recipients for their years of dedication, commitment, and impact on students and families. Thank you for the time, care, and passion you have poured into education through the years!

Today we celebrated our incredible 5th grade students during their End of Year Success Ceremonies. It’s hard to believe the little Cubs who once walked into elementary school are now preparing for the exciting journey ahead in middle school.

The celebration ended with one of our favorite traditions — the clap out. Families, staff, and students lined the halls and library, cheering, clapping, and sending our 5th graders off with so much love and pride as they took their final walk through elementary school. ❤️

To our 5th graders: we are so proud of the leaders, friends, and role models you have become. Keep being brave, kind, curious, and confident as you begin this next chapter. Middle school is lucky to have you, and Cannon will always be cheering you on. Once a Cub, always a Cub! 🐾

Cannon’s First Lego League competition was one for the books! 🤖🏆

Throughout the year, students have dedicated their time after school meeting with Mrs. Hagar, where they learned valuable skills in coding, robotics, teamwork, and engineering. Their hard work and creativity were put to the test during our annual Cannon FLL Competition, and our students absolutely delivered!

This year’s competition ended in an exciting girls vs. boys showdown, with the girls taking the top spot! 👏💪 We are so proud to see our girls shining brightly in STEM and showing that innovation, leadership, and problem-solving know no limits. At the same time, every team showed incredible determination, sportsmanship, and talent throughout the competition.

Congratulations to our winning teams:
🥇 1st Place – Team Archaeologist Girls
🥈 2nd Place – Team Indiana Games
🥉 3rd Place – Team Silver Raptors

A huge thank you to Mrs. Hagar for investing in our students and helping inspire the next generation of engineers, coders, and creators! 🐾

This week, Cannon has celebrated some very special moments during our End of Year Success Ceremonies.

It has been so special to reflect on how much our Cubs have grown this school year — academically, socially, and personally. From first day jitters to confident smiles, each student has made their mark at Cannon, and we could not be prouder of all they have accomplished. 🐾✨

Tomorrow, we celebrate our final ceremony of the year as we honor our incredible fifth graders before they move on to middle school. It’s hard to believe how quickly the years have flown by. These students have grown so much during their time at Cannon, and while we are excited for all that awaits them, there’s definitely a bittersweet feeling knowing their elementary journey is coming to an end.

Cannon families, due to the weather we will be dismissing from indoor the building and we will be running one car line. Walkers will not be released to the crosswalks. Car and bus dismissal only! Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we support a safe dismissal for all scholars!

A special note from our newly appointed Cannon PTA President Elect ~ Dear Teachers, Staff, and Families,

I hope this message finds you well.

As we begin looking ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I want to extend a very special welcome to the families and staff joining us from Dove Elementary as you become part of the Cannon family. As a Dove parent myself, this transition is deeply personal to me, and it is incredibly important that every family and staff member feels supported, connected, and excited about this next chapter.

As we come together at our campus, I look forward to honoring the traditions at both Dove and Cannon and building a strong, unified community where all students, families, and staff feel valued and connected. We know that happens best when families, teachers, and staff work together.

One of the most meaningful ways to stay connected and support our students is through involvement in our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Whether you have a little time or a lot, your voice, ideas, and participation truly make a difference.

We invite you to complete our PTA Interest Form to let us know how you might like to be involved next year. There are a variety of opportunities, both big and small, and we are committed to helping everyone find a role that fits their interests and availability.

Your participation will help us shape a welcoming, inclusive, and impactful PTA for the coming year as we begin this exciting new chapter together.
