UPDATE FOR THIS WEEKEND: This Saturday, Mission Tejas is hosting the Sasquatch Shuffle, a foot race that will be utilizing most of our hiking trails. The mission area will be blocked off for the event, as the racers will be using that area.
We ask any visitors coming into the park to keep this in mind and to be aware that there will be racers all over the trails and even crossing the Park Road in certain areas which will be marked off. Also, be aware that there may be many vehicles parked along the side of the road towards the camping loop.
Thank you for helping us keep the park safe for our visitors.

Oh hello there! πŸ‘€
Spring is in the air and you know what that means: baby birds! The chicks in the picture are young Eastern Phoebes. The nest was photographed from some distance away so as not to disturb the birds. Always best to let the parents raise their chicks with minimum distractions! The second photo is another phoebe nest that was found last year in almost the exact same spot! It was found on the ground, empty, after the chicks in it had fully grown up and left.
