Granville Volunteer Fire Department of Vermont

Granville Volunteer Fire Department of Vermont Based in Granville, Vermont; the GVFD was established in 1951 with the mission of providing fire protection to the Town of Granville.

The GVFD was organized by a group of concerned citizens in the Town of Granville and with the help of the Moss Glen Grange # 554 who felt that fire protection was a necessary service that the Town could not afford to provide for it's citizens. The group formed an unincorporated association and began raising money for equipment to provide a basic fire service. In 1952 the responsibility of providin

g this service in the Town of Granville was given to the GVFD. In 2009 the GVFD incorporated to become compliant with IRS rules which mandated that any organization with revenue of more than $11,000 annually, must register as a non-profit corporation.

At 20:40 hours July 19, 2025; Granville Fire was dispatched to a single motor vehicle fire in the Granville Gulf. Our friends from the Warren Fire Department were also dispatched to the area. This is a common occurance as our 911 call center areas boarder each other.

Both departments worked to extinguish the blaze. The occupant of the vehicle was unharmed. Thank you to all who assisted with this call.
