Reminder: our first Family Night of the summer is Friday, June 26th at 6:30 pm by the Community Park pavilion. Bring chairs and blankets for a magic show by 'Michael Reist, The Amazing Magi' at 7 pm.

Our theme this month is Camping! ⛺️ We'll start out the night with samples of pizza mountain pies and s'mores and learn about some easy camping recipes with tips and techniques you can use this summer. Want to try camping with your family close to home? Bring your tents and camp-out in the park overnight and enjoy a campfire Breakfast in the morning! School is almost out for summer, and our Summer Rec Camp begins in just TWO WEEKS! On Sunday, we gathered together our Camp Counselors and Counselors-in-Training for Orientation. I know we say this every year, but this is the best team we have on staff, ready for camp! ⚽️🛝🎨

Visit our Nature Park for a new feature: a Storybook Walk in partnership with Manada Conservancy! Parking is available by the nursery or in the back near the yellow gate. Wear boots or good shoes to walk the looping forested trail.

Today’s walk at the Nature Park has been canceled. Sorry folks.

But we can reschedule the walk for another day if you would like to join us to learn about the spring flowers, trees in bloom and what we are doing to tackle invasive plants in the park. Let us know if we reschedule for May 16 or 17 if you are interested. Thank you!

Here’s a bunch of May Apple plants you can see along the wooded trails at the Nature Park and the northern wooded trail at the Community Park. Look under the leaves for a beautiful white flower!

Did you know we do regular inspections of our playgrounds? We know our playgrounds are a great place for children to expend their energy, socialize with other children, use their creativity and strengthen their motor skills.

To help keep them safe, we conduct monthly checks of the equipment like making sure the safety surfacing under play equipment is the right depth. This means filling in impact areas under swings and slides. And checking play equipment for wear and loose hardware.

Help us keep our playgrounds clean and safe for all to use. Please place all trash in cans by the pavilion. And if you notice something on the play equipment that doesn't seem right or missing- please let us know. Just a few tips for National Playground Safety Week!
