Join us for Around the World Family Literacy Night on April 16 from 5:00–7:00 PM! It’s going to be an unforgettable journey through reading and culture.

• Kick off the night in the gym where all students are invited to join for a school song performance! 🎶
• Grab a passport and "travel" the school to learn about many different cultures, including French DLI. 🗺️
• Explore books and stories created by our very own student authors! 📚

🎭 Don't forget we have a Spirit Week leading up to the event!

We can’t wait to see our Grizzly families there! 🐾

Let's get ready to read! Next week is Read Across America. We are starting the week off with a Great Grizzly Book Break, where we will PAUSE to PAW through a book! This will be during school, with your child's teacher.
The week will end with our reading breakfast on Friday at 8:15 am in the cafeteria. If you give a kid a book... they are going to read it!

Congratulations to Shannon Mouritsen!

We are thrilled to celebrate Shannon Mouritsen, a 2nd-grade teacher at Grantsville Elementary, who has officially earned her National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) credential! This is one of the highest recognitions a teacher can earn in the profession.

Shannon achieved her certification in Literacy: Reading–Language Arts / Early and Middle Childhood, demonstrating exceptional expertise, deep reflection on her practice, and a strong commitment to helping students grow as readers and communicators.

She now joins Alejandro Lopez, a Spanish language teacher at Stansbury High School, who is the only other teacher in our district to hold this prestigious certification. National Board Certification is a rigorous, multi-year process that requires teachers to meet high standards of accomplished teaching and demonstrate advanced instructional practice.

As we watched the closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games this past weekend, we’re also wrapping up our very own Literacy Olympics! 🏅📚

Reminder: All Literacy Olympics papers are due by Monday, March 2!

Get those final events completed and turned in - our Olympic medals will be awarded next week!

We can’t wait to see our Grantsville Grizzlies on the podium! 🥇🐻

Congratulations to our 3 AMAZING Grizzly readers who absolutely crushed it in November! These rockstar students logged their reading minutes every single day on Beanstack —way to show that Grizzly Pride 📚✨

At this morning’s Grizzly of the Month assembly, we pulled names from all students who recorded daily… and these three lucky readers each went home with an official U of U signed jersey! ❤️🏈

We had a wonderful, and delicious, family night playing games, reading stories, and applying our knowledge. Thank you to our amazing teachers and PTA for all of their hard work and bringing us all together.
