On August 16, 2023, Keith Lamp was sentenced to an indeterminate term of imprisonment for not less than one (1) nor more than five (5) years upon his conviction for Fleeing in a Vehicle with Reckless Indifference and a determinate term of imprisonment of three (3) years upon his conviction for Concealment of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. The foregoing sentences were ordered to run consecutively.

On August 2, 2023, Candace Cash was sentenced to the penitentiary for an indeterminate term of not less than one (1) nor more than three (3) years upon her conviction for Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle - Second Offense.

On August 2. 2023, Chadwick Hughes was sentenced to the penitentiary for an indeterminate term of not less than one (1) nor more than five (5) years upon his conviction for Domestic Battery - Third Offense.

On June 6, 2023, Bryant James Hall was sentenced to two (2) years in the regional jail upon his conviction for misdemeanor “unlawful restraint” and misdemeanor “domestic battery”.

On June 5, 2023, Carlos Cottrill was sentenced to six (6) months in the regional jail upon his conviction for misdemeanor domestic assault.

The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County extends its most heartfelt condolences to the West Virginia State Police and to the family and friends of Sergeant Cory Maynard who was killed in the line of duty on June 2, 2023. The law enforcement community and the citizens of West Virginia mourn your loss.

The death of Sergeant Maynard is a grim reminder of the dangers that the men and women who work in law enforcement face every day protecting their fellow citizens.

Rest in peace, Sergeant Maynard.

On May 30, 2023, Megan Hartz was sentenced to six (6) months in the regional jail upon her conviction for Animal Cruelty. In addition to incarceration, the defendant is prohibited from owning animals for a period of five (5) years.
