The Grantsburg Police Department had the great privilege of honoring past Village Marshal, Anders Gustaf “Big Gust” Anderson, with a graveside memorial on the centennial anniversary of his passing. The memorial service included full police honor guard, wreath laying, and blessing. Thank you to GPD, Deputy Barker, Officer Tyler, the Woody family, and Village Floral for helping to make this a special event. “No act of faithful service is ever truly forgotten, let this be a testament to a life well lived, a duty faithfully performed, and a legacy that continues to shine a century later.”

April 12–18 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

This week, we recognize and thank the dedicated 911 dispatchers of Burnett County who are the true lifeline between the public and emergency response. Often working behind the scenes, they are the calm voice in moments of chaos—answering calls, sending help, and providing critical support when every second counts.

Our telecommunicators are an essential part of every response, coordinating with law enforcement, fire, and EMS to ensure our community receives the fastest and most effective assistance possible.

We are grateful for their professionalism, strength, and unwavering commitment to serving Burnett County around the clock.

Please help us say thank you to our dispatchers during NPSTW and every week of the year. 💛
