MONTHLY REPORT FOR THE GRANT FIRE DEPT/PERKINS COUNTY AMBULANCE

Perhaps you noticed members of the local Fire Department appear to be a step slower than normal, perhaps they are in need of a little rest from concluding one of the busiest months in the history of the Grant Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance.

For the month of August 2026, the Grant Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance Responded to 38 incidents during the month, thus averaging greater than one response per day (1.26 reponses/day). The August incidents were divided into 4 fire responses, and 34 EMS incidents which included 4 trauma responses, 12 medical incidents, 2 Cardiac situations, 8 long distance transfer events, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 2 Flight for Life deployments, and 4 other EMS incidents.

Training in July was vehicle operations, beginning of EMT training, railroad emergencies, and checking the cities fire hydrants.

For the month of July 2026, the Grant Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance Responded to 31 incidents during the month, thus averaging one response per day. The July incidents were divided into 5 fire responses, and 26 EMS incidents which included 5 trauma responses, 4 medical incidents, 0 Cardiac situations, 10 long distance transfer events, 1 motor vehicle accidents, 3 Flight for Life deployments, and 3 other EMS incidents.

Training in July was helicopter landing zone preparation, procedures, patient loading and aircraft communications.

MONTHLY REPORT FOR THE GRANT FIRE DEPT/PERKINS COUNTY AMBULANCE

For the month of June 2026, the Grant Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance Responded to 26 incidents during the month. The June incidents were divided into 9 fire responses, 1 Weather event, and 16 EMS incidents which included 1 trauma responses, 4 medical incidents, 0 Cardiac situations, 7 long distance transfer events, 1 motor vehicle accidents, 0 Flight for Life deployments, and 3 other EMS incidents.

Training in June was fire truck pump operations, rural water shuttle, and tanker refilling procedures. Annual fire hose testing was also completed with the outstanding assistance from the Perkins County FFA members

The May incidents were divided into 3 fire responses, 1 Weather event, and 22 EMS incidents which included 2 trauma responses, 9 medical incidents, 0 Cardiac situations, 5 long distance transfer events, 4 motor vehicle accidents, 0 Flight for Life deployments, and 2 other EMS incidents.

MONTHLY REPORT FOR THE GRANT FIRE DEPT/PERKINS COUNTY AMBULANCE

For the month of April 2026, the Grant Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance Responded to 25 incidents during the month. It should be noted 12 of the incidents took place between April 20th and April 24th, April 22nd was a unique day where 6 different responses were dispatched on this particular day. The April incidents were divided into 9 fire responses, and 16 EMS incidents which included 0 trauma responses, 3 medical incidents, 0 Cardiac situations, 7 long distance transfer events, 0 motor vehicle accidents, 3 Flight for Life deployments, and 3 other EMS incidents.

Training in April was handling law enforcement medical situations and other legal situations; CPR refresher was given to those members needing to renew their training.

MONTHLY REPORT FOR THE GRANT FIRE DEPT/PERKINS COUNTY AMBULANCE

For the 31 days in March a total of 35 responses were recorded for the Grant Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance. The March incidents were divided into 12 fire responses and 23 EMS situations. EMS responses further break down into 6 medical incidents, 7 long distance transfer events, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 4 Flight for Life deployments, and 4 other EMS incident.

Training in March consisted of CPR recertification

The Grant Fire Department says a heartfelt and deeply appreciative thank you to everyone that provided food, snacks, beef jerky, bottled water, electrolyte fluids, etc. during the recent fire activity. Particular appreciation and special thanks is given to all that have provided monetary gifts given to the department for immediate usage in supply procurement and immediate expense needs. The members of the department have given nearly 1000 manhours in fire line work. Again, the department cannot extend its complete and total appreciation to you.
