Greer County is under a severe t-storm watch until 1am Friday. High winds, hail, heavy rain and isolated flooding are the main threats.

Greer County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 845pm. 1.75 inch hail and 80mph winds are the main threats. These storms have caused damage to structures up north so be very aware and be prepared to take cover if necessary.

We are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10pm Tuesday night. The one that just went through wasn't severe but a larger area of storms are in the northern part of the state and headed south. I'll update if necessary.

Dangerous heat index again today. Please drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks. Take care of your animals too. Plenty of water and shelter if they must be outside.

Very hot with humidity means the heat will be dangerous. This graphic is for Wednesday and Thursday. Please drink plenty of water, take frequent rest breaks if you must be outside and wear light colored loose fitting clothing.

DO NOT leave children or animals in cars. It only takes a very few minutes for temperatures inside a locked car to become life threatening. Please provide your pets at home with plenty of shade and water if they must be outside.

How much do you know about outdoor warning sirens? Sirens are intended for people who are outside, and are not supposed to be heard inside your home or vehicle. They are also not designed to wake you up. Be sure you have multiple ways to get a warning! Don't wait for a siren.
