🚛 Solid Waste Collection Update 🚛

Waste Management has notified the Town that they are experiencing equipment issues and are currently running behind on their collection routes.

As a result, some residential garbage pickup may be delayed and could extend into Saturday. Please leave your garbage carts at the roadside until they have been serviced. Waste Management crews are working diligently to complete all scheduled collections as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as they work through these unforeseen challenges.

🌿 Limb & Brush Pick-Up Requirements (Year-Round) 🌿

Here’s everything you need to know to make sure your limb pickup goes smoothly 👇

📅 Pickup Schedule
• 1st & 3rd week of each month
• Have limbs out by Monday evening for pickup Tuesday or Wednesday

📏 Size Limits
• Limbs cannot exceed 10 feet in length
• No more than 8 inches in diameter
• 🚫 No stumps allowed

🚛 Amount Limits
• Up to one (1) dump truck load per property per month

🧹 Preparation Rules
• Must be free of metal (nails, spikes, cans, yard furniture, etc.)
• Place all debris in one neatly stacked pile
• Cut ends should face the street ➡️

📍 Placement Rules
• Must be in the Town’s right-of-way
• DO NOT place near utilities, fences, fire hydrants, mailboxes, etc.

⚠️ Important Notes
• Pickup schedule may change at any time
• The Town will NOT collect debris cut by a paid contractor (responsibility of payee)
• If damage occurs during pickup, contact the Town immediately so repairs can be made

Town of Granite Quarry Announces Pause of Granite Fest for 2026

GRANITE QUARRY, NC — The Town of Granite Quarry has announced that Granite Fest, the community's annual signature festival, will not be held in 2026 due to the ongoing renovation and redevelopment of Granite Civic Park.

After careful consideration of several alternative locations, Town officials and the Granite Fest planning team determined that none could adequately support the vision, atmosphere, and experience that residents and visitors have come to expect from the event.

The Town recognizes the dedication of the Granite Quarry Events Committee, a team of five volunteers who tirelessly donate their time, creativity, and energy throughout the year to make Granite Fest a success. Their commitment, along with the support of sponsors, vendors, performers, and community partners, has helped make the festival a highlight for residents across the region.
