Praying for all those impacted by this evening’s devastating fire at The Grand on Julian. I am thankful for the quick response and coordinated efforts of our own Granite Quarry Fire Department and the many other mutual aid agencies working tirelessly to protect lives and property.

Please continue to avoid the area and keep the residents who have been displaced, as well as all of our first responders, in your thoughts and prayers.

We are grateful for the dedication and bravery of those serving on the front lines tonight and every night. ❤️🚒

As a Trustee for Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and Mayor of Granite Quarry, I’m proud to see North Carolina’s community colleges recognized for their efficiency and impact.

This report reinforces the critical role community colleges play in workforce development, continuing education, and creating opportunities for our residents. Rowan-Cabarrus is an incredible asset to both Rowan and Cabarrus counties, and I’m grateful for all they do to support students, employers, and our communities.

Congratulations to our Town Manager, Jason Hord, on graduating from the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Rowan program! This respected leadership program has spent more than 30 years developing and connecting leaders across Rowan County, creating opportunities for growth, collaboration, and community impact.

A huge shoutout as well to Granite Quarry’s Community Engagement Coordinator, Debbie Loflin-Benge, for the incredible work she does engaging with our community, attending countless events, and serving as a master coordinator behind so many of the things that help bring people together here in Granite Quarry. Her passion for people and community truly shines through in everything she does.

I’m incredibly thankful for this team and the leadership they continue to bring to our town EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Granite Quarry is fortunate to have dedicated individuals who care deeply about serving others, building connections, and helping move our community forward. Proud of both of you and grateful for all you do for the Town of Granite Quarry!
