Bridging Generations Through the Art of Letter Writing! 📝✉️❤️

For the past two years, Ms. Jones’s 5th-grade class at Monte Cristo Elementary has taken part in a truly magical partnership with the wonderful residents and staff over at GenCare Granite Falls!

Throughout the school year, these students have been mastering the art of traditional letter writing and learning how to spark meaningful conversations across generations. After eagerly exchanging letters back and forth for months, the big moment finally arrived this week—our 5th graders walked over to the care center to meet their pen pals face-to-face!

What a beautiful way to connect our local youth to the broader community while proving that friendship and great communication have no age limit. Both our students and the GenCare residents walked away with hearts full of joy and a school year chalked full of unforgettable memories!

Sources of Strength at Granite Falls High School! 🧡

We have some incredibly exciting work launching behind the scenes this week! Yesterday and today, a dedicated team of staff and students gathered in the Granite Falls High School library for our official Sources of Strength training sessions.

Led by our fantastic trainer, Sia, our team jumped into interactive activities designed to build connections, empower student leaders, and foster a positive, resilient culture across our school community. ✨

“This is my 3rd year in Granite Falls School District as a Speech and Language Pathologist. I get to evaluate students' communication and create personalized plans to support them in school. My favorite work days are the ones spent building communication with students/families and learning new skills with the many teams I get to work with.”

🐅Share a favorite memory or moment from your time working in Granite Falls.
“The day I got to step in and be a substitute teacher for one of my favorite people. I got to be with students the entire day, learning together through play and coaching kiddos through conflicts. That day changed my perspective and reminded me I needed to figure out how to be with students and coworkers as much as possible.”

🐅If you could describe Granite Falls in one word, what would it be — and why? “Connected - Because it’s full of strong people that care.”
