Thank you to all who have participated in previous public meetings and provided feedback to shape key regulations regarding Data Centers. In this meeting, the City Council will consider Zoning Amendments to regulate and set standards in advance of any proposed Data Center projects, including:
-Noise restrictions
-Minimize lighting with dark sky provisions
-Minimize water usage with closed-loop or other available technology
-Use/testing of generators
-Location only in industrial zones

The City’s Planning Commission is holding a public hearing on potential amendments to the City Zoning Code to establish clear, enforceable standards for data center development.

This public hearing does not involve the review or approval of any specific data center. No data center application has been submitted to the City.

The Planning Commission is a citizen advisory board charged with holding public hearings to gather citizen input on zoning amendments in order to provide a recommendation to the City Council.

Mayor Mike Parkinson’s Annual Easter Breakfast!

Mayor Mike Parkinson invites all Granite City residents and their families to join him for the Annual Easter Breakfast at The Mill Event Center on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Families will enjoy a delicious breakfast along with a fun morning filled with Easter activities for the kids. Children will have the opportunity to take free pictures with the Easter Bunny, which will be printed on site to take home, and every child in attendance will receive a special gift.
This is a free community event, but tickets are limited, so reservations are required. When reserving, please select a ticket for each adult and child attending. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Guests may choose from three breakfast time slots:
• 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM
• 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
• 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
