Equipment costs have doubled in 4 years and with most of our budget going to personnel, we're projected to have less than $10,000 in discretionary funds for FY 2026–27.

This is not nearly enough to replace aging gear or equipment. Locally controlled funding will support the people, equipment and stations that make fast, effective emergency response possible.

Today your South Placer Firefighters participated in the Sacramento Stair Climb to honor the 343 Firefighters who gave their life 25 years ago. Each member carried a name of a fallen Firefighter and ascended 110 flights to hang their name in remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice. We will Never Forget.

Aging equipment and fire stations affect emergency operations. With most of our fire engine fleet averages 10 years or older, planning ahead is essential to keeping our crews equipped and ready to respond.

We’re incredibly grateful to add one new engine this year and we hope to continue making investments like this so we can better serve our community for years to come.

Yesterday we celebrated a milestone for Placer County! The members of Mooney Ridge in Granite Bay became the 150th Firewise Community in Placer County! Placer County now leads the country in the most Firewise Communities within a county, great job Mooney Ridge!
