The bridge grovers are finishing up, and the line painters are setting up, so after today, the project should be substantially complete. They got all TxDOTs punch list finished. So as soon as the gas grows they planted they will pull the silt fences up and take all the signs down.
But they are gearing up to chip seal from the county line to maypearl next. Always some road construction somewhere I guess!

Doing grass seeding today, and working on clean up and punch lists that TXDot gave them. It’s been really slow since they opened the road. They are waiting on the bridges to get grooved before they do final striping. That’s been delayed a week now and I’m not sure why.
There are a lot of workers onsite today.

I’m hearing today or tomorrow the road will open. The second bridge doesn’t have road paint but everything else is done!

Signs are up, so we are down to days to the road opening officially!

Got rained out!
They started drilling sign bases so that’s exciting! And they worked on final grade on bridge 2. And hauled more equipment off.

They have the rumble strip cut in. And all the signs marked. But the rain seems to be holding off any work.

At least they are hauling off equipment and the road is open and smooth. So for the time being we just blast through the work zone.

I wasn’t too far off of substantially complete by end of April. I think the road will officially open in 2 weeks. They only have road signs and final road paint to do yet.

But they have to get grass to grow, so they will be to around working for more than a month yet.

Rumble stip getting cut in today. Pictures to come later. Road is passable, just lots of traffic control trucks so it will take a while to get through.

Paving is done! All in one day. They tell me permanent striping and rumble strips are getting done tomorrow.

So keep that in mind while you drive through there tomorrow, while they are painting they may block it off, for the first bridge as well. Now we watch for signs. After that they say the road closed signs come down.

First 2” down before lunch there is a chance they will get the whole thing paved today.

In talking with TxDOT, they won’t open the road till the perminate signs are all up. So I’ll start asking questions about the timeline on that. Shouldn’t take that long but you never know.

But after today the road should be smooth and very passable. Tomorrow they will be hauling equipment off, so that will make the road even more passable.

The list of things to do is dwindling.
