Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Go into Effect for BLM Twin Falls District August 7, 12:01 a.m.
With wildfires actively burning throughout our region, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are now in place across all BLM Twin Falls District lands, as well as other federal, state, and private lands in southern Idaho. These restrictions begin at 12:01 a.m. Friday and are critical to reducing the risk of new human-caused fires.
What’s Impacted?
• All BLM Twin Falls District lands—including Sawtooth North, Three Creek, Shoshone, and Cassia Fire Restrictions Zones—are covered by Stage 1 restrictions.
What’s Prohibited?
• No wood, charcoal, or briquette fires outside of designated, agency-installed fire pits or grates.
• Smoking is only allowed inside vehicles/buildings, at developed recreation sites, or in cleared areas at least three feet in diameter.
• Only stoves or grills with shut-off valves fueled by liquid petroleum gas are permitted and must be used in cleared areas.
Why Now?
• With fires burning all around us, these restrictions are essential to protect our public lands, wildlife, and communities. Every action counts in preventing new ignitions.
