GVFD assisted the Mountain Home Rural Fire Department yesterday evening for several hours with the devastating fire that quickly tore through rural Mountain Home. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this fire.

GVFD responded to North Park/ Air Force marina to assist Grand View Ambulance Service, Bruneau QRU, Elmore Ambulance Service, and Air St. Luke's on May 24, late afternoon. This made for the 3rd landing zone for Air St. Luke's near CJ. Strike since Wednesday, May 20. Stay safe as everyone wraps up the holiday weekend!

Several incidents that GVFD has responded to recently. A very small fire in the ditch along Highway 67 MM 6.5 on Sunday, May 17. Also a 2 vehicle accident at Highway 78 and Black Sands Road on Wednesday, May 20.

UPDATE: SH-167 remains closed from Simco Road to SH-67 near Mountain Home Air Force Base due to an aircraft crash and ongoing investigation.

The road will remain closed until further notice and will reopen once the accident investigation is complete and aircraft recovery has occurred.

ITD will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. Please check 511.idaho.gov for the most current road closure information.

UPDATE: SH-167 is CLOSED due to an aircraft crash and investigation from Simco Rd to SH-67 near the Mountain Home AFB. This is anticipated to be a multi-day closure. Check 511.idaho.gov for updates.

GVFD provided mutual aid to the Mountain Home Fire Department, Mountain Home Air Force Fire Department, and BLM Idaho Fire on the wildland fire that resulted from the plane crash. GVFD sent Command 1, Brush Truck 2, Brush Truck 3, and Tender 6.

Also be aware that Highway 67 will be closed for an undefined amount of time.
