So nice to see our champions being recognized! Way to go Mrs Webbley!!

For 18 years, Congress Elementary fifth-grade teacher Charity Webbley has dedicated herself to helping scholars grow academically, socially and emotionally while building a classroom culture rooted in love, respect and perseverance.

“I often tell my students, ‘Once you’re one of my kiddos, you’re always one of my kiddos,’ because I want every child to know they will always have someone cheering them on, believing in them, and loving them,” Webbley said.

F is for flashlights…Kindergarten completion countdown is on!

Here they are using our flashlights to look at Constellations (the Big Dipper) made by using a cup with pattern poke holes. We’re so proud of these scholars and their progress this year!

Our music program is top notch! 🎶

At Congress Elementary, music instruction is a vibrant part of the school experience, giving every scholar the opportunity to explore both vocal and instrumental performance. Beginning in the early grades, scholars build foundational skills through singing, rhythm work, and introductory string instruction. By fifth grade, they expand their musicianship to include violin, viola, and cello, developing technique, ensemble awareness, and confidence as performers.

The Congress music program will present its spring concert on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church (1100 Lake Dr. SE). The performance will feature students in grades 1–5, including a special appearance by the Honors Orchestra.

HUGE shoutout to Mrs Anderson for her impressive coordination of reading month! Scholars will wrap up today with PJ day, breakfast & a book in their classroom and, for those who completed all their take home challenges, a prize! As usual, our community showed up for our kiddos with prize donations from Furniture City Creamery, Books & Mortar, Mokaya, Blue Bridge Games, Vivant Brewery + Spirits, Community Ministries Program, Williams Group(prizes and mystery readers!) & LaGrave Avenue CRC. Special thanks also goes to author and former Congress parent Kenneth Kraegel for helping coordinate our annual author visit. Congress would not be what it is without this community!! Enjoy spring break, see you back April 13!
