We'll be thinking about the first annual Seasons of Service Conference for a long time to come 🍂

Over three incredible days at Calvin University's Prince Conference Center, our AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers learned, connected, and were celebrated for their dedication to serving our community.

We were honored to accept a Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition from Congresswoman Rep. Hillary Scholten, alongside every one of our amazing volunteers.

We're so proud of the volunteers who give their time and talents, grateful to the community partners who shared their knowledge, and thankful for the staff who made this experience possible. ❤️

Last night, our 2026 16 Over 60 honorees, alumni honorees, and distinguished guests came together at Mercantile Bank for a special honoree reception.

It's been a busy day already here at Kent County Veterans Services.

Today we held our annual Grantee Seminar where our community partners come to our office and learn more about submitting invoices to make sure they get paid for helping our veterans.

Below is a list of our grantees for FY2027 and a little bit of information about how they serve our veterans in Kent County, Michigan:

- Kent County Veterans Treatment Court: Promotes sobriety, recovery and stability through a coordinated response of each veteran's needs

- MCDC • My Community Dental Centers: Offers free dental services to veterans & surviving spouses at select Kent County locations

- Senior Neighbors: Provides veterans & surviving spouses with home repairs or medically necessary renovations

- Community Rebuilders: Helps veterans get into housing, furnish their home and connect them to the community

- Arbor Circle: Provides free substance use counseling services for veterans

- Riverside Cleaning Co.: Helps disabled veterans and their spouses who struggle with mobility to keep their homes clean

- Disability Advocates: Supports veterans and their spouses with disabilities to achieve independent living and stable housing

- West Michigan Veterans Assistance Program: Assists veterans & their families in need of food or financial assistance (not pictured)
