🎨 CALLING GRAND RAPIDS MURAL ARTISTS!

The Third Ward Mural Project is officially accepting artist submissions!

The City of Grand Rapids, in partnership with Khamai Strategies, is seeking a Grand Rapids-based mural artist to help bring Third Ward history to life through a large-scale public mural honoring a historically significant person connected to the community.

We’re looking for artists who can turn history into a powerful visual story—one that celebrates the people, culture, and legacy of the Third Ward.

📅 Submissions due: August 28, 2026

🎨 Three finalists will be selected to develop mural concepts and present their vision to the community.

Thank you to Eleanor, 3rd Ward Commissioner Marshall Killgore, Kate Kooyman from Senator Winnie Brinks office, and all of you from our local businesses and church partners for making the trek through Construction to help us celebrate this milestone for SECOM.

As the need for food grows in the Grand Rapids community, SECOM Resource Center has moved into a more centrally located building on the city’s southeast side.
