🚦 A signal pole at Michigan Street and Plymouth Avenue was damaged, causing all the signal heads to fall and be destroyed. ⚠️

✅ We were already in the process of modernizing this intersection to a new box span signal! So the new installation will feature that updated design.

The signal is expected to be out of service for about a week, until next Wednesday.
In the meantime, the intersection will operate as an all-way stop. 🛑

Thank you for your patience while we complete this work. 🤝

When air quality is poor or smoke is heavy, try to avoid non‑essential travel and keep an eye on updates from local officials. Smoke can reduce visibility and affect your breathing. If conditions worsen or you experience symptoms (coughing or shortness of breath), pause your trip and get to cleaner air.

If you must drive, remember:

✅ Keep windows closed
✅ Use the recirculation mode on your A/C
✅ Maintain extra distance between vehicles
✅ Drive calmly and stay alert
✅ Turn headlights on for better visibility
✅ If possible, carpool or use public transportation to reduce emissions

And don’t forget an emergency kit with essentials like jumper cables, a flashlight, first aid supplies, an N95 mask, and a blanket!

Taking a few precautions can make a big difference in staying safe on the road during wildfires.
