May is Supervised Visitation Awareness Month
A police station or β€œsafe goods exchange site” is not safe enough for exchanging children. Being in a space does not make it safe. A dedicated, trained, provider of safe child access services is the only way to keep families safe. Learn more about this service in our community by contacting the Supervised Visitation Program at Advocates for Family Peace at (218) 326-0388 or [email protected].

Violence Free Minnesota, the coalition to end relationship abuse, is releasing a retroactive We Remember in honor of TyEsha Gills, the 27th confirmed victim of intimate partner homicide in Minnesota in 2021. We had been tracking this homicide since 2021 but until now were unable to determine the relationship between TyEsha and the man who killed her. His trial concluded in February of this year and he was sentenced this month, at which point we were able to access court documents confirming that they had been dating.
