As the sun rose at our Hope at Dawn Breakfast, so did awareness of the challenges families face in finding stable housing.

One of the most meaningful parts of the morning was the opportunity to bring our community together to learn more about family homelessness in West Michigan. Thanks to our incredible panelists, our attendees heard more about the challenges families face when housing becomes unstable and understood more tangible solutions for families regaining stability.

We are also incredibly grateful to our sponsors, whose support made this event possible and helped create a space for meaningful conversation, education, and connection.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen, ask questions, and learn about the work being done every day through Family Promise of West Michigan. Awareness is a powerful first step toward change, and together we can build a community where every family has a safe place to call home.

We're encouraged to see the expansion of the Rx Kids program in Grand Rapids, providing direct cash support to eligible families during pregnancy and a child's early years. Programs like this recognize a simple truth: when families have the resources they need, children are healthier, housing is more stable, and communities grow stronger.

Summer can put extra pressure on family budgets, especially when school meals aren't available.

If your family could use a little extra support this summer, Grand Rapids Public Schools is offering FREE meals for all children ages 18 and under at locations throughout Grand Rapids. No cost, no enrollment required, just healthy meals to help keep kids fueled all summer long.

Meals are available at school and community locations across the city through August 13.

Our donation shelves are starting to look a little bare! Help restock these essential items that support the basic needs of families experiencing homelessness:
