A great meeting at Pickled Loon tonight! Tonight's program was given by GRHS teacher Eric Northard, and our own Pres. Melissa Ewen, on their trip to Morocco. We enjoyed a great meal and alsi heard from Rachel Newman on an altruistic project involving tomato plants and our local food shelf, and from VP Angie Ogilve on the sale of remaining glass cylinders from a previous project. Next month is our last meeting of the school year, and anyone interested in an officer position should be sure to come forward. Time flies when you're having fun.

Our first meeting of the year in our new meeting area at Sammy's. We have not had an in-person meeting in a year and a half, due to the Covid pandemic! We celebrated Marina's retirement, Marie's 10 year Violet Sister award, and welcomed new member Kathrine. It was good to see everyone!

Congratulations to our sister, Marie Gibbons, on her retirement from ISD 318! Her ADK sisters held a surprise drive-by and socially distanced gathering to celebrate! RJEMS is going to be at a loss without your talents and work ethic, Marie! Congratulations are also in order as Marie begins her tenure as the Minnesota State ADK President! All our best to you, Marie!

February Meeting 2020
Mike and Marlon, Tae Kwan Do and Hapkido instructors here in Grand Rapids, gave us a very informative, interesting, and potentially life-saving, program on self-defense for women. Thanks, guys!
We also celebrated Fat Tuesday with beads and masks provided by this month’s hostesses.

November Meeting
Sylvia Olson, representing Zion Lutheran Church’s Open Closet program, spoke to us about the program. There is a lot of need in our area, especially for young boys clothes and new underware for all ages, at this time. She told the story of one young girl who was so excited because she received her first new package of un**es- ever! Our group voted to donate to this cause and a shopping committee was established.
We did well at our Bazaar! Thanks to all who contributed items,set up, worked, bought a table to display their own items, tore down, distributed signs and flyers, brought goodies and beverages for the goodwill table, and, of course, purchased items!
We are looking forward to our annual Christmas Party, which will be on Monday, Dec. 9th, at Melissa Ewen’s Home.
