What an EPIC event!

The 4th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament was our biggest one yet! 18 of our community’s young anglers hit the water and put the hammer down on some impressive Lake Trout.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped organize this event and to all of those who volunteered their time to make the fish fry afterward a success. Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing community.

A special thank you goes out to the captains who generously donated their boats and shared their knowledge to help teach the next generation how to fish. Your dedication to our youth and our fishing traditions is greatly appreciated.

Another successful Polar Bear Fish Release in the Sucker River!

A huge thank you to Chef Cleary and Ross for cooking cheeseburgers and hotdogs for all the kids and staff. Events like this are what make our community special, and we’re honored to be part of such a great tradition. 🎣

The Grand Marais Sportsman Club is proud to announce the 4th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament — and it’s shaping up to be the BEST one yet!

📅 Saturday, June 6th, 2026⏰ 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM📍 Lake Superior – Meet at the Marina

This event is OPEN TO BURT TOWNSHIP STUDENTS and the sons & daughters of Sportsman Club members in good standing.

👦👧 Ages 12–18 — bring the kids, and the competitive spirit!

🚤 How it works:• Meet at the marina at 8:30 AM• Boats leave at 9:00 AM sharp• Return by 1:00 PM• Each team weighs their 5 biggest fish• 🏆 Most total weight wins!

💰 CASH PRIZES will be paid out!

📋 Important:• Release forms MUST be filled out and signed by a parent/guardian• Weigh-in begins once all coolers are unloaded at the marina
