Foster Care of Mesa County

Foster Care of Mesa County We certify loving and nurturing foster families to care for children/youth who have been abused/neglected, until they can safely return home or adopted.

At any given time the Mesa County Department of Human Services in Colorado has about 250 children and youth in care. When children cannot remain safely in their homes, they often come into county care and temporarily live with either a foster family or a relative family until they can safely return home. Our primary goal is to help children heal while they are in the care of Mesa County. Meanwhile

, we are also engaged in helping their parents make healthy lifestyle choices. Our aim is to return children to their families when it is safe to do so. Foster Care of Mesa County is a part of the Mesa County Department of Human Services, and exists to find and license loving and nurturing foster and relative (kinship) families who can care for our children until they can safely return home.

Celebrating reunifications this month!
This reunification happened back in 2018…..and just THIS MORNING did the “not so little girl” tapped my husband on his shoulder and called him by name. The mom came over and got teary eyed and thanked him for the blessing we had been to them when they needed help the most! Beautiful things can happen from foster care.
