Comments that relate to the topic at hand, whether you agree or disagree, are encouraged and appreciated. If your comments are appropriate and relevant, they will remain on our page. If you post a comment that appears to be based on misinformation or incomplete information, we will respond as quickly as possible to answer questions you may have or provide more data, details or specifics. Respectful disagreement is fine, but abuse is not! You are more than welcome to air your disagreement with us - we know not everyone will agree with everything we do or everything we post. All we ask is that you keep your posts respectful and civil. We will not tolerate language that is abusive toward the Grand Junction Incident Dispatch Team or the City of Grand Junction, its employees, or toward anyone who comments on our page. (5:00 PM): Patterson Rd has been reopened in both directions. Please drive safe.

(2:48 PM): The eastbound lane of Patterson Rd has been reopened. The westbound lane remains closed as officers continue their investigation.

(1:35 PM): The suspect is in custody, this is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat. There are no known injuries, although several vehicles in the area were struck by bullets. The only shots fired were by the suspect prior to being taken into custody. Roads will remain closed between 7th and 12th while officers continue with the investigation. Thank you for your patience.

(1:08 pm): The suspect is in custody.

There is an increased law enforcement presence in the area of Patterson Road between 7th and 12th for an incident. Please avoid the area. Updates will be made once they become available.
