There's a particular kind of light on the Western Slope in early September, the orchards are heavy, the days are shortening, and everything is quietly getting ready for what's next. Campaigns can feel like they're all noise and urgency, but some of the most important work happens slow, like fruit ripening: showing up, listening, building trust one porch at a time. Grateful for every conversation this season has brought so far, and for the people of HD54 who've made time to talk with me, about water, about their kids' schools, about what "representation" should actually mean where we live. Still listening. Still walking the block. Still grateful.

Spent today at the Pride parade and festival, and what stuck with me most was the same thing that always stands out at events like this: people showing up for each other. Neighbors, families, kids, longtime residents, all just wanting the same thing everyone in this district wants: to be seen, to belong, and to be treated with basic dignity. Representing HD55 means representing all of it, every family, every neighbor, no exceptions. Grateful to everyone who came out today and to everyone who works all year to make sure this community stays a place where people can be themselves.
