HomewardBound of the Grand Valley

HomewardBound of the Grand Valley HBGV's vision is to eliminate the unwanted condition of homelessness in the Grand Valley.

La visión de HBGV es eliminar la situación de la falta de vivienda en el Gran Valle. To Donate: please visit our website at https://homewardboundgv.org/donate We currently house 200+ people per night, providing more than 40,000 bed nights for men, women, and children experiencing homelessness each year. Additionally, we offer transitional programs and collaborate with other local organizations to

support families and individuals on their path home. Originally formed in 1998 as the Grand Junction Community Homeless Shelter by a coalition including St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, The Grand Junction Housing Authority, The Salvation Army and Grand Valley Catholic Outreach in response to a critical need for winter overnight shelter for the homeless in our community. Today, HomewardBound of the Grand Valley continues to provide services that meet the needs of our most vulnerable citizens.

We have an amazing team of Guest Relation Coordinators! These folks are our frontline staff -- responding to guests needs throughout the day and making sure things run smoothly throughout the building. More than that, they are each caring individuals who we are lucky to have on our team! We could not do what we do without them! Thank you to our GRC's for their work and dedication to HomewardBound.

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we would like to thank all of our hardworking volunteers who have helped HomewardBound in serving our shelter guests. During the month of March, 50 volunteers helped us provide 1841 bed nights and helped serve just under 2900 meals. In 2025, we had around 1,300 volunteer hours! We could not have done it without you. Thank you for your continued support in helping us serve the adults and families at our shelter.

HomewardBound would like to recognize our talented Culinary Director, Paul, and his hard working staff, Cory and Richard. Together they served almost 2,900 meals to the homeless clients in the emergency shelter on 29 Road during the month of March. And they did it all for less than $1.42 per meal. Wow!!!

Thank you Paul, Cory, Richard, and the Food Recovery Program in Mesa County.

HomewardBound would like to give a big shout out to Bravestone Project ! This week they educated our entire staff on human trafficking in Western Colorado. It is sad to know that in Mesa County there are exploitative people who prey on the homeless and vulnerable, but we are thankful to gain the tools and education to help those in need.
