Training in progress today at Grand Haven State Park.

Michigan DNR personnel are conducting water rescue training in partnership with Grand Haven Department of Public Safety and U.S. Coast Guard Station Grand Haven.

Visitors may see increased emergency personnel, rescue equipment, and activity along the beach, pier, and channel area. This is scheduled training and not an active emergency.

Please give crews room to work while training is underway.

Access to the swimming area water is CLOSED to the public at this time due to hazardous wave and water currents. The remainder of the park is open to the public.

Lake conditions will be evaluated throughout the day for re-entry.
