This article brings up an interesting idea. Is Grand Haven school district also worried about a competing school being built on the property? Grand Haven Christian School is growing while the public school has steadily declining enrollment. Another school could open at the Lakeshore property to bring more educational options to local students. Language immersion? Trades? Science and engineering? Lot of options and intriguing ideas to re-purpose a historical building!

Grand Haven Public School is looking for a new superintendent as the outgoing, Scott Grimes, announced his retirement. The district is inviting the community to fill out this survey to gather input on what we are looking for in the next superintendent. There is a comment area at the end.

The Grand Haven community voted NO on both proposals! It appears many community members, both for and against the bonds, are continuing to question the decisions of GHAPS' leadership that contributed to two bond failures in less than a year.

VOTE NO and NO tomorrow on the GHAPS school bonds. The district paid $148,545 in 2022-2023 to King Media (survey, billboards, advertising) to "inform" voters about the bond (were they advocating? If so, that is not allowed by MI campaign laws). King Media also DID NOT recommend asking the voters to decide on Lakeshore Middle School in November. (See comments).
