Celebrate National Lighthouse Day with a trip out to Grand Haven's historic twin lights!
Rehabilitation Updates:
1) Most recently, a fresh coat of paint was professionally applied to the inter lighthouse (courtesy of a Michigan Lighthouse Assistance Program grant via State Historic Preservation Office & Save the Lights license plate campaign)
2) Another noteworthy grant received by the Grand Haven Lighthouse Conservancy & City of Grand Haven includes an interpretive grant from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy for signage, a replica Fresnel lens, and implementing additional safety measures in the outer lighthouse; to invite the public in for a unique educational touring experience
3) Also, cement work was completed a couple of years ago as repair was needed around the foundation of the outer lighthouse.

We appreciate all those who have contributed to saving these iconic treasures through generous donations and volunteer services.

🚨Reminder: Foghouse Tour, Thursday, August 31, 4:30-7:30pm (weather permitting) Donations are being accepted. Come out for a docent-led tour through the foghouse and see the recently completed cement, paint and railing work.
(If a rescheduled date is needed plan on Friday, September 1, 4:30-7:30pm.)

(Open House/Tour Details Below)

A special thank you to Michigan State Historic Preservation Office for the recent visit to Grand Haven to see how the Michigan Lighthouse Assistance Program grant received in 2017 was put to use. Restoration work on the twin lighthouses continues. While it may be a slow process, every year more good work is being done. We are thankful for our donors and for grants like MLAP to help in the restoration effort.

OPEN HOUSE: Tour the the Outer Lighthouse/Fog House, Thursday, August 31, 2023; 4:30 - 7:30pm. Donations are appreciated. (Inclement weather date - Friday, Sept. 1, 2023)

Help open the Grand Haven Lighthouses to the public!😊 The Lighthouse Conservancy is thrilled to continue the efforts of opening these historic structures to the public, however, there is still work that needs to be done! It is through your generous support that the Lighthouse Conservancy is able to continue the Phase II campaign of raising funds to allow access inside the lighthouses. It with great appreciation to be awarded a Michigan Lighthouse Assistance Program (MLAP) grant from the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office! Thank you to all of our charitable donors whose generous contributions will supplement the funds from MLAP and will allow us to achieve our long-term preservation efforts and to keep the lights on.

Have you ever wanted to go inside the Grand Haven Lighthouses? 😍 Experiencing our maritime heritage, first-hand, is on the top of many Must-Do lists. The Lighthouse Conservancy wants to offer the option of access to these historical structures; however, there is much work to do on the inside before that can happen.
