THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
We had a successful Party in the Park this year and we could not have done it without the help from Norms Ice Cream, Burzurk Brewing Co., Off the Chain Brewstillery, The Unicorn Tavern, Culvers of Grand Haven, Catering by August, and music by Freshwater. This is our fourth year putting on this event and we had the most tour participants than we ever had before. We love showing off our facility and we cant wait to see you next year!

2024 has been a productive year for projects here at the Sewer Authority and one that we are extremely proud of is the completion of the community fundraised restoration project of the East End Basketball Court. It was because of the support we received from our amazing community that we were able to bring life back to this court so kids and families have a safe place to come and have fun!

Thank you to everyone who purchased a personalized brick for your donation, your brick can be found by a new park bench donated by Bob Barker and Family. THANK YOU to Mattson Landscaping for their efforts in installing the paver bricks and sod.

Thank you to Racquet Sports for bringing our vision of a colorful court to life! It looks AMAZING!

Thank you for donations from the local organizations of Tri-Cities Kiwanis Club, Grand Haven Eagles FOE 925, Grand Haven Area Jaycees and Grand Haven Rotary!

Thank you to Grand Haven Custom Molding for their donation!

Thank you to the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation Youth Advisory Committee for their donation from their Greatest Needs Fund!

SPECIAL THANK YOU to Dr. Larry Poel for his donations which showed his continued support of the "Eastside" and the community of Grand Haven!!

Every year we participate in a great event at the Grand Haven High School with other local businesses called Boomerang. This event is put on by Grand Haven Chamber and is designed to keep local talent in the area or attract people back to the area after receiving college education. We team up with the Northwest Ottawa Water System to take advantage of this great opportunity to highlight the importance of clean water and the careers that can be found in the water sector.

The City of Grand Haven’s Water & Sewer Department has recently been experiencing an alarming number of clogged sewer pumps at our sewer pump station that serves your home or business. The clogs are a result of inappropriate material being flushed down toilets or poured down drains.

Examples of what SHOULD NOT be flushed down toilets or poured down drains are as follows:
· Baby wipes, toilet wipes, towelettes, disinfecting wipes, or cloth wipes of any kind (even if the container indicates that they are “flushable”)
· Paper (other than toilet paper/tissue)
· Medications (prescription or over-the-counter)
· Feminine hygiene products of any kind
· Beauty products, Q-tips, dental floss
· Plastics of any kind
· Grease of any kind - - especially cooking grease
· Garden supplies (such as pesticides, fertilizers)
· Paint, varnish, paint remover
· Motor oil, gasoline, or any explosive material

All of the above items mentioned should be thrown out with the trash or disposed of properly. Clogged sewer lines and pumps lead to sewer backups into homes, which are expensive to clean and repair. They also lead to increased maintenance costs which does affect rates. Please share this information with all members of your household or business.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Department of Public Works at 616-847-3493.

Asphalt has been installed. We are back in business!!

We have to wait a minimum of 30 days before we can paint our lines, which gives us a little more time to raise for the funds needed. Please continue to spread the word.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported this community project, we certainly couldn't have done it without your support and generosity!

Some services just can't stop!!

We would like to thank our employees for maintaining a high level of service at the WWTP during the holidays and their families for their support.

A service that usually goes unnoticed until it's too late. We are extremely grateful for our operators at the GH-SL WWTP!!

Thank you to the Vrablic family, the Zimmerman family, the McCarthy Family, the Such family, Cuddington family and the Murphy family. These families sacrifice their Christmas morning with their loved ones so our residents and visitors have safe travels to their destinations!

Wishing all a Merry Christmas!
