Northlands Rescue Mission

Northlands Rescue Mission We are an emergency shelter empowering people experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or food insecurity to live more stable lives.

We serve homeless men, women, and families from 21 counties in North Dakota and Minnesota. Clients are provided with shelter, meals, clothing, essential items, spiritual support, and case management. This is delivered in a safe environment, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The end goal for everyone who stays at the Mission is permanent housing. In 2021, more than 150 men and women found permanent housing with the help of the Mission & supporting agencies. We also feed thousands of community members each year with our outreach initiatives, which include the Backpack Food Program for elementary students, monthly food boxes, and our Mobile Food Pantry. People staying at the Mission have the opportunity to meet with a licensed addiction counselor, learn coping skills, and get connected with additional resources. It vastly improves people's chances of getting a job, a home, and taking back control of their life. Proceeds from this event support these efforts.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for the Mission rummage sale! We raised nearly $500 to help purchase essential items for the people staying here.

Some community members got much-needed clothing, kitchenware, etc. ๐Ÿฅฐ Most of the leftover items were donated to other agencies and thrift stores.

Shopping trip! ๐Ÿ›’ We just picked up $250 worth of food and $259 of hygiene products for people staying at the Mission. It was all donated by High Plains Ministry (Edmore, ND) as part of their Thrivent Action Team project.

A big thank you to Irene and Dave for taking us shopping, and to the entire High Plains Ministry for your generous, ongoing support of people in need. ๐Ÿ™โค A full stomach and the confidence that comes with being clean means so much to the folks staying at the Mission.

We have two men. Both have struggled with alcoholism.

Danny is at the shelter today. He's working on staying sober, finding a home, and rebuilding his life.

Adrian is 7 months sober. He is a changed man from the day he set foot in the Mission. He paid off his housing debt. He's developed healthy relationships with sober people who want to see him succeed. He's living in his own apartment now.
