GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The draft 2026 Grand Forks County Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available for public review and comment.
The draft plan is available on the Grand Forks County and City of Grand Forks websites. A printed copy is also available for review at the Grand Forks County Emergency Management Office, located in the County Office Building, 151 S. 4th Street, Grand Forks.
Public Hearing Scheduled for September 15
A public hearing will be held from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. CST on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Public Safety Center in Grand Forks.
The hearing will provide an opportunity to review the draft mitigation plan, discuss results from the mitigation survey, and receive public comments. The public hearing will officially close at 6:30 p.m., followed immediately by a brief Steering Committee meeting.
“Public review of the mitigation plan is essential to developing an approved plan and ensuring a whole-community approach to hazard mitigation,” said Grand Forks Emergency Manager Kari Goelz. “Input from local residents strengthens the information contained in the plan and helps us establish a path forward for implementing the strategies identified within it.”
Residents and other interested parties are encouraged to review the draft plan and provide feedback.
