🏈 A Great Night to Be a Roughrider! 🏈

Last week’s Red River Football game was a special one as we celebrated Staff Night!

A big thank you to our football coaches and student-athletes for inviting Red River staff to join the team on the field for the National Anthem. It was a great moment to recognize the incredible staff who support, encourage, and make a difference for our students each and every day.

While this was a special opportunity to recognize our staff, we appreciate the work they do every day—both in the moments everyone sees and the many that happen behind the scenes.

Thank you to Red River Football for making the night so memorable, and thank you to our staff for all you do!

🎉 Congratulations to Kristy Sandbeck! 🎉

We are excited to share that Kristy Sandbeck has been selected as a 2026–2027 Teacher Fellow with the Mark Cuban Foundation!

This highly selective national fellowship recognizes educators who demonstrate a strong commitment to innovation, equity, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into education.

Throughout the school year, Kristy will collaborate with educators from across the country, participate in professional learning focused on AI ethics and classroom applications, develop a capstone project to expand AI learning opportunities, and support a Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp for high school students.

Kristy has been an outstanding educator in our district for decades and has consistently been “out front” in finding new and meaningful ways to serve students. Her selection for this fellowship is incredibly well deserved, and we are excited to see how her leadership and learning will continue to benefit our students, staff, and schools.

✈️ Congratulations to Leslie Martin — North Dakota AFA Teacher of the Year! 🎉

Today, representatives from the U.S. Air Force surprised Leslie Martin, Aviation Instructor at the Career Impact Academy, with a special in-class presentation recognizing her as the North Dakota Air & Space Force Association (AFA) Teacher of the Year!

Leslie was selected for this honor because of her outstanding efforts to inspire students and elevate their interest in aviation and aviation-related career fields. She was first selected as the Grand Forks Chapter AFA Teacher of the Year before being chosen as the overall North Dakota AFA Teacher of the Year!

We are incredibly proud of Leslie and grateful for the passion, expertise, and real-world opportunities she brings to her students each day at the Career Impact Academy.
