🚲 E-BIKES: KNOW THE LAW BEFORE YOU RIDE!

E-bikes are becoming more popular throughout Michigan, but not every electric-powered bike is legally considered an “e-bike.” There are important differences between Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 e-bikes—and some electric bikes, scooters, mopeds, and e-motos are actually considered different types of vehicles under Michigan law.

Our goal is to help riders understand what is—and isn't—an e-bike, where you can ride, age and helmet requirements, equipment requirements, and some of the rules that apply when riding on Michigan roads and trails.

📌 Take a few minutes to look over the infographic and know the rules before you ride.

Remember: E-bikes = more freedom. More fun. More responsibility.

Ride smart. Ride safe. Share the road. 🚲
