I am running for Texas State House of Representatives for District 91, which includes North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Watauga and Haltom City. To make it simple, my platform focuses on three areas:
1. During the next legislative session, there are several amendments proposed to increase property taxes. It is critical to oppose these efforts so we can stop further out-of-control spending.
2.
Increase school funding by implementing a one-and-a-half cent sales tax to supplement current educational funding programs. All revenue from this will go directly to the classroom and create greater educational opportunities for our children.
3. To fight for more than $0.05 cents of our area's transportation funds we pay in taxes. Presently, $0.95 of every dollar goes to the glamour regions of our state- Austin, San Antonio, and Houston. If we were just able to keep $0.18 cents out of every dollar, our transportation needs would be satisfied. One example that illustrates our funding starvation is the necessity of toll roads on Hwy 183 and 820. The new construction on these highways will require toll lanes, because we are sending $0.95 cents out of every dollar to other areas. These are but a handful of commonsense solutions that we must implement in Austin. Ladies and gentlemen, we cannot sit idle any longer. We need to pay more attention to what is happening in our district, in our state, and in our federal government. We must take action now! Elect me to the Texas State House of Representatives, and I vow to stay focused on these three areas. I won't be popular with those who just want to get along so they can stay real long. But Your voice and Your concerns will be heard. Please join me in this movement for your voice to be heard. Volunteer, discuss my ideas, and call me! Let's have a conversation about your thoughts and concerns.
