Day 12:
I used to want to be part of the world in a way that allowed me to experience many of the things one can experience in life. I thought it would help me feel fully alive, or better yet, blissfully carefree.

What I didn't realize was that I was not fully alive; I was creating places that would feel dead inside when the dust settled. I think the enemy does more than make sin look normal; he makes it look like everyone else is doing it, and you'll be missing some greater understanding if you don't dip your toe in or take the dive.

It's a creative lie for people who haven't experienced the fullness that comes from a commitment to truly knowing their Creator, with all the facets, nuances, and depth He shares in the Bible. It's enticing. It plays on human FOMO (since the Garden of Eden, we've proven it works).

So, what is the solution? What if we know the strategy and make a conscious decision to resist the trick? All it takes is a commitment to finding a good study Bible and learning God's character. That requires turning down distractions and having faith that your knowing will make a difference.

If you don't have a great study Bible yet, try watching The Bible Project on YouTube for short, visual, cartoon drawings that are easy to understand. It's a start. Knowing the trick is half the battle.
