🚨 FOLLOW THE MONEY: Have Some Hood County Republicans Betrayed the Principles They Claim to Represent?
GRANBURY, TX — Campaign finance records reviewed by Hood County Express show that several individuals publicly associated with Republican politics in Hood County contributed thousands of dollars to Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico.
The findings raise a question many Republican voters may now be asking:
Have some local Republicans abandoned the principles they publicly claim to represent?
A Hood County Express review of campaign finance records found that Republican-coded Hood County voter records accounted for more than five times the amount contributed by Democrat-coded voter records among the Granbury and Lipan donors examined.
Texas does not register voters by political party. For purposes of this report, “Republican coded” means the voter record was classified as Republican based on voting history and other political indicators contained within the dataset. It is not an official party registration.
The review covered donors with Granbury and Lipan addresses and cross-referenced campaign finance reports against a Hood County voter file.

Messina made multiple $250 contributions, including donations dated:
