If you have been putting off attending a meeting of the Southern California Republican Women and Men, of the Republican Women Federated, of your Assembly district central committee or of the LA County Republican Party (LAGOP.org) because what’s the point, we’re hopelessly outnumbered, out-spent and out-gunned and besides, the whole thing is rigged by voter fraud — then you no longer have that excuse.
Two small but significant recent victories give the lie to shallow pessimism and reveal it to be simply a convenient tool of the Democrats, or of the devil, to keep you alienated and uninvolved.
• Measure EE: A $500,000,000 per year property tax boondoggle went down in flames in June. As our own Larry Sand put it, “Perhaps the public has awakened to the fact that the LAUSD is being run by Keystone Kops wannabees.”
• Republican John Lee has been elected to represent the North West San Fernando Valley (where SCRW&M meets) in City Hall, a.k.a. Los Angeles City Council District 12.
These campaigns were not won by Artificial Intelligence technology, legal maneuvering, big-money donor engagement, elite leadership or massive media campaigns (and neither were they lost due to voter fraud or demographic subterfuge). Rather, they were won the old-fashioned way, block by block, neighbor talking to neighbor, by grassroots activists and volunteers who took the leap of faith to make the sacrifice of their time, talent and treasure, personally contacting voters by walking precincts and making phone calls.
It made all the difference in the world. I know of one case in particular where a low-information voter was dead-set against our candidate, but was convinced to vote for him when presented with the big picture, in particular the (progressive socialist environmentalist) alternative.
We can build upon these victories to win Los Angeles and California back by doing the same thing in every single district and campaign henceforth: GET INVOLVED. Sí, ¡se puede! It can be done. Wir schaffen dass, We can do this, and this is the way it will be done.
We are getting some wind at our backs. With your involvement it can become a gale, then a hurricane.
The Democratic candidates for President are making fools of themselves with their Trump Derangement Syndrome, fake identity politics and their cosmic indignation at some abstract concept of social injustice at the same time that the blood-streamed streets of Chicago and the excrement-caked streets of San Francisco shout to the world their inability to govern a civilized society. All the while they insist that the problem is that we won’t give up more of our rights, our freedoms, our money, our speech, our “privileges” and our ability to defend ourselves against the violent thugs that they are depositing en masse onto our streets.
Democrats rail against “concentration camps” at the border while US Citizens and disabled vets are sleeping on the streets in Democratic districts. The “Squad” — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Presley — have taken the mask off of the anti-Semitic and anti-American agenda of the left.
Democrats have for generations now been running plantations for their mascots; the poor, minorities, women, g**s and transgenders whom they PRETEND to care about, but whom are nowhere more miserable and wretched than in the cities that Democrats having been running as one-party dictatorships; plantations from which escape, or attempted escape, is severely punished. Many of these captives now want out, and more and more are finding the courage to escape.
Increasing numbers of Hillary 2016 voters are waking up to the lies of the radicals who have obliterated the once honorable and patriotic liberal party of JFK, and are joining the ascendant and movements. Trump is polling 28% approval among black Americans and 50% among Hispanics — unheard of. Attendance and participation is up, way up, at Republican clubs and assembly district central committees.
Be a part of it. Come to our next meeting and bring three friends eager to come out of the lonely closet with you.
