The Grain Valley School Board has had drastic turnover the last 3 elections. It is time to give the current members a chance to keep the District headed in the right direction.

Happy Monday Grain Valley School District! We are one week away from Election Day.

I would like to take a moment to one of our many great District programs that is instrumental for so many of our students, our Early Childhood Center and SPED program.

While I have been on the board we have been able to approve many additional staff positions for this program including additional Process Coordinators and Paraprofessionals. Our staff members that work in the SPED program deserve all of our appreciation! My family has personally benefited from the support that ECC provides.

If I am fortunate enough to earn your vote again, we will continue to make great improvements to our Special Needs programs.

Congratulations!!

Ryan Hay has been named the 2024-2025 Support Staff Employee of the Year for Grain Valley Schools! ⭐️👏🏻🦅

Ryan Hay is a field technician for our technology department and is housed at Matthews Elementary School.

Mr. Hay was nominated by a colleague who said, “It is hard to describe all that Mr. Hay does for Matthews Elementary and our school district as a whole. It doesn't matter what issue is presented, Mr. Hay immediately jumps in to help support. You will never see him without a smile on his face. He is the most polite, caring, and thoughtful person I get to work with every day!"

The interview panel was made up of community partners who were inspired by Mr. Hay's positivity and the pride he takes in his ability to help students and staff be successful by having access to high-functioning technology.

When Mr. Hay talks about his role as a field technician, he says, I try to be someone that I would want to work with.

Congratulations to Mr. Ball and all of our finalists. Grain Valley has so many great teachers and staff members!

Eric Ball has been selected as the 2024-2025 Grain Valley Schools Teacher of the Year! 🍎🎉🦅

Eric Ball is a social studies teacher at Grain Valley High School. Mr. Ball was nominated by students and alumni who commented on the passion, creativity, and care he pours into his classroom daily. Additionally, you might recognize Mr. Ball as the voice of the Eagles, as he announces at many GV sports and activity events.

The interview panel, made up of administrators from nearby school districts, was truly impressed by Mr. Ball’s deep community involvement and his passionate dedication to the subject he teaches.

Mr. Ball shared that he became a teacher because of the immeasurable impact the educators in his life had on him. He wanted to give back to his own community by becoming a teacher himself.

Good afternoon Grain Valley and surrounding areas. I sincerely hope everyone had a tremendous Spring Break.

Today we are 14 days away from Election Day.

Over the next several days I would like to highlight some of the priorities I was supporting during my last campaign that we have been able to make major gains on.

Today I will focus on “Safety and Security”. I have been working with our Board and Administration towards improving the security around our entire District, specifically working towards adding STO’s, but also updating and upgrading other security measures in all buildings.

Keeping all of our children safe is always top of mind for me.

I will work every day to earn and retain your vote. Please vote April 8th for Jeff Porter - Grain Valley School Board Member

If you do not have a sign and want one also message me and I will get them out to you
