This Isn’t Guesswork. This Is Experience.

Most people don’t realize what all goes on inside the County Clerk’s Office…
And that’s exactly why experience matters.

This isn’t a job you learn overnight it requires precision, knowledge, and accountability every single day.

In this office, we don’t just “file paperwork.”

We:
• Record deeds and plats, assign volume and page numbers, secure them for permanent record, and print plats for the public
• Manage court cases from start to finish — filing cases, issuing citations, subpoenas, warrants, posting dockets, and sending court letters
• Work hand in hand with the Sheriff’s Office to ensure warrants are executed, subpoenas are served, and returns are properly filed
• Handle civil cases and occupational licenses
• Process probate and guardianship cases, prepare files for court, issue letters, notify title companies, and ensure everything stays compliant with the law
• Handle appeals, preparing full clerk’s records and transferring them to District and Appellate Courts
• Maintain vital records, checking the state daily, issuing birth and death certificates, and assisting funeral homes
• Prepare and distribute monthly records used by companies people rely on every day, including property platforms like Zillow
• Serve as the official record keeper for Commissioners Court
• Track every dollar, balance accounts, and report monthly to the State including OCA and CJIS.
• Handle jury trials from beginning to end — a detailed process with many moving parts that must be done right every single time

And honestly… this is just barely touching the surface of what we do.
If I went into full detail, nobody would read all of it!
This office touches your land, your family, your rights, and your county government and there is no room for guesswork.

I’ve also heard the talk about the office being closed at noon and closing at 4:00.

Several taxpayers can vouch that 90% of the time, I am still in my office at noon. If you call or knock, I will open the door and help you. That time is often used to catch up on daily responsibilities so everything stays on track.

If that is something the taxpayers want changed, I’m more than willing to adjust and keep the office open.

As for 4:00 when the doors close, the work does not stop. That time is used to finish filings, balance the day, and make sure everything is completed correctly before we leave.

And beyond regular hours, I have come in on weekends and after hours to help in emergency situations, whether it’s someone needing a birth certificate or a couple realizing too late about the 3-day waiting period for a marriage license. When the taxpayers of Young County elected me, I made a promise that I would always be available to serve this county and I have not veered from that. I am always just a call away, evenings and weekends.

This isn’t about hours on a door , it’s about doing the job right.

When it comes to following the law and doing what’s right, I will not be bullied, intimidated, or persuaded ,I will always follow the law.

I don’t need time to figure it out.
I’ve been doing the job. I know the process. And I know what it takes to do it right.

I humbly ask for your vote to continue serving as your County Clerk.

Your County Clerk,
Tina R. Gilliam

❤️Valentine’s Day has a deeper meaning than most people realize. It comes from the story of a man who believed in love, faith, and doing what was right, even when it wasn’t easy or popular.
In many ways, it reminds me of public service. Doing the right thing isn’t always the simplest path, but it’s the one that matters. Serving as your County Clerk this past year has been an honor, and I’ve worked every day to lead with fairness, professionalism, and respect for the people of this county.
I truly believe strong communities are built on the same things Valentine stood for, Faith, Loyalty, and standing beside the people who count on you.
❤️Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. Hold your loved ones close and never take for granted the people who walk through life beside you.

Sincerely:
Your County Clerk
Tina R.Gilliam ❤️

📣 It’s official, I’m running for re-election as your Young County Clerk!

Hello Young County! I’m Tina Gilliam, your Young County Clerk, and I’m proud to announce my campaign for re-election. This past year has been a true learning experience new deputies, new challenges, and a lot of growth. We’ve had moments where we laughed, moments where we cried, and moments where we had to get creative to keep things running smoothly. But through it all, we stayed focused on serving the people of Young County with professionalism, leadership, and heart.

I’m running for re-election because I believe deeply in the work we do. Our office handles some of the most important records and responsibilities in the county, and I am committed to keeping our services accurate, efficient, and accessible to everyone.

As both an elected official and a taxpayer, I will always stand up for what I believe is right for our community. My goal is simple: continue building an office that is strong, transparent, and grounded in service.

Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me. With your support, I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Young County with integrity and dedication.
