🦇 Another Successful Rescue & Release! 🦇
​We responded to a call for a bat that found its way inside a local home. After safely retrieving the little guy, we gave him a quick, thorough physical assessment. The verdict? Completely uninjured, strong, and ready to go!
​Because he was in great health, we were able to release him right back into the trees where he belongs. Seeing these beneficial insect-eaters fly back to freedom never gets old. 🌲✨
​As an unfunded 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our survival and ability to respond to calls like this depend entirely on the kindness and generosity of supporters like you. Every bit of support helps us continue saving local wildlife!

Everybody, welcome Tori, our new intern to Bilahuk Family Farm. Today she did her first release with us. She was nervous but handled it like a champ—setting a great rat snake back into the wild after it was retrieved from a home.
​Unfortunately, wildlife rescue comes with heavy moments alongside the good ones. Right after the release, we responded to a call for a young fawn hit by a vehicle. Due to the severity of the injuries, the young buck couldn't be saved and had to be humanely euthanized. It was a tough first look for Tori at the heartbreaking realities of rescue work.
​No photos of the deer call are included, as the scene was severe and inappropriate for community guidelines.

We're a falconry school and raptor breeding facility based in Elon, North Carolina. We do programs for events, schools, and camps. As well a guest lecture on a number of avian, behavioral, and training topics at a collegiate level.

Another success story for the books! 🪵🌲
​This little fighter had a rough encounter with a dog, but after some rest and care, he’s fully recovered. His superficial wounds are completely scabbed over and dry, and he’s been eating and drinking like a champ.
​He is healthy, full of energy, and officially heading back out into the woods tonight for a fresh start in the wild. A quick and easy release evening! 💚🐾
